Although I won't be endorsing any over-priced roca-wear, or have a witty e-mail address, I can safely say that one can have a future without these aforementioned graces.
If some mysterious power told me that I could put everyting I wanted to say about my memories from SAMOHI on this page, there wouldn't be any room left fo others to even leave their names! But I'll try to keep it as short as possible and as sweet as a Coca-Cola slurpee (no rip off ICEEs) on a Friday afternoon.
SAMOHI has given me friendships that will outlast the test of time, and memories that will administer such tests. At times it went by too slow (i.e, French, Stat, and any event associated in the Library). And sometimes it was like it just appeared momentarly and left (like common sense within the adimistration). However, they are and will continue to be the only true thing we've gotten from SAMOHI. So, it's are responsibility to OUR COMMUNITY and ourselves to keep these memories alive with those we shared them with. This way we can never truely lose the spirit of SAMO.
As for my future plans, I really don't know. SMC is a cozy place, but the world extends far beyond Santa Monica. But I can assure you that one of my many passions will lead me to...
-program the games you play.
-write the books you read.
-(somehow, good or bad) be on the frontpage of your newspaper.
-write the laws you follow.
Or, at best, reply to your e-mail promptly.
And one more thing: If you knew me in any way, shape (ha ha), or form, e-mail me! Chances are I'd like to hear from you!
All of my love and wishes to the class of 99.
Sincerely,
Frederick Badlissi

If I become rich and famous, maybe I'll show up at our reunion. If not, look for me under a bridge...
While it only being less than a month after graduation, I have been thinking of what the class of 1999's reunion will be like. Summer is here and those of us who have graduated have closed one chapter in our lives. High school is history. We have our entire lives ahead of us. Some plan to work immediately.
Others plan on going on hiatus before deciding what to do with their lives. There are people like me who will attend college in the fall. On the morning of June 18, 1999, I did not get to say goodbye to most of my friends. I have some of their phone numbers but there are countless people that I might not ever see again, that is, until our reunion. Everyone was swept up in the excitement of graduation that a plan to have a reunion was never devised.
I do not like the idea of having a reunion ten, fifteen or twenty-five years from now. In fact, I would like to have a reunion in five years. I am sure you people know what it was like to see old friends after ten or fifteen years. Sadly, some never see their friends. The story of Mr. Jimenez not being able to attend two of his reunions echo in my mind.
Sadly, some people cannot attend (i.e. Jimenez). Or, somehow they pass away, only to be told that that person died long ago. If there is any way that the class of 1999 can have a reunion soon, I would like to be a part of it. If I have to call people, I will do it. If I have to fly across the nation, I will do it. If I have to swim across the Atlantic to notify people, I will do it.
I made so many friends from first grade at Franklin through twelfth grade at SAMO. To me, the journey was more fulfilling than the destination. I hope that whoever reads this understands the importance of a reunion to me and to those who feel similarly. Please email me back with any information possible. You can also call me @ 323-587-1437.

Wow... never knew this existed. But as long as I've found this... I've been hearing a rumor that I became a pothead after I left SAMOHI. IT is only a rumor! Nothing more! =P For reals though... Anyhoo, this is too trippy for me. Dang...

Hello everyone. Well, as I said during our gradnight, I am on my way to my Nobel Peace Prize... working with the youth of santa monica at... you guessed it SAMOHI. I am the O House (samo is divided into small schools, called "houses") Student Outreach Specialist and I work with a caseload of 20 students who are struggling and need inspiration and lots of advising. I am still dancing and doing some modeling/acting work here and there. Living in Marina del Rey and loving SAMO, still. guess ya'll didn't vote me "most spirited" for nothing. I miss SAMO SONGs and ASB alum, all my friends and even those jealous beings who the kids still call "haters". See you all at the reunion in a few yrs. oh and guys, IM STILL SINGLE, by choice of course.
Since SAMO, I've lived in England and Canada. It's weird to say the place I was born is home to me and in a way its not. What makes it home is the memories I have of High School, the people I knew, the people who made me laugh or those that made me cry. Thank you, I will never forget them. If you see me around, that is when I am, say hello, in the six years that have passed since graduation, the world has changed, talking to any of you would just make me happy. Class of '99 Rules!
Finished undergrad at UCLA in business and economics and a masters in public health at UCLA as well. Currently living in Boston doing a Ph.D. in social policy concentrating on health care management.

I felt kinda wierd coming back to Santa Monica after being away for six years, but coming back to graduate high school felt right. To remember faces that I waited so long to see again, and even seeing the faces I didn't want to remember, was a good thing.
I'm currently working on my multiple subject teaching credential at Cal State Dominguez Hills. I'll be finishing with that this December and then I'll finally be working as a bilingual elementary school teacher.
