Hi fellow Samohians, I'm chilling out here in Encino kicking it with my wife and two girls aged 7 & 4. Banker by day, daddy/husband by nights & weekends. My rubbicks cube collection is massive. Have 4,253 cubes from 138 different countries worth, according to ebay, several hundred dollars. I can take any cube, regardless of distortion, and get it back to its orgianal inclination (same colors for each side) in less than three minutes. My average is 2:45. The world record holder is Candian Fredrick Cohouser and his average is 2:24 so I'm only 21 seconds from being THE champ. Oh Yeah! Go UCLA!
After seven years in Washington D.C. (politics and journalism) and five in NYC (managing money), gearing up for my first mid-life crisis. Currently taking some time off, gambling, travelling and writing a novel about the horrors of working in the hedge fund industry. Any literary agents out there?

I had been Santa Monica and working at UCLA as a critical care nurse in the Neuro/Trauma ICU until May 2007. In 2005, I met a great guy, married him in March 2007, moved back to his hometown in Maine, and we are now expecting our first child in Feb 2008. While Maine is totally different from Santa Monica, I still live on the coast where, in the summer, we can sail and kayak out our back door. In the winter, which is seriously winter and quite long, we can downhill ski, cross country ski and snowshoe. It's absolutely gorgeous here, who'd have known! I was sorry to have missed the 20th reunion, I hope there'll be pictures on the website! Hope you all are well!!

In 1991, I married my high school sweetheart, Frank Uto, who is also a 1987 Samohi graduate. We have a fantastic 11 year old son, named Brendan. For several years I managed an orthopaedic surgery practice in Beverly Hills. After we had Brendan, I became an independent contractor, providing office management and bookkeeping consultations. In 2006 we bought a house in Indio, and moved here to the desert. For those that know Frank, being away from the beach was a drastic change, but, as he discovered, there are more places to fish out here, so life is very good.

I’ve continued my low-key lifestyle (much like the one I lead at Samohi) here in Hawaii for about 12 years now. Graduated from Univ. of Hawaii with a degree in Sports Nutrition and currently work for the State as a Food and Drug Inspector; which supports a nasty canoe paddling addiction I’ve had since ’86. No wife or kids, just my loyal side-kick dog, Koa, that I take hiking, etc. with me. Unfortunately, I missed the 15 year reunion, however this board and the efforts of Lance have put me in touch with several friends from the past! Aloha and take care of yourselves and the ones you love!

Passionate about botany and spend summers in the hot heat tracking down rare plants for crap pay and no celebration. Get fat and out of shape during winter months but I'm very confident I could still kick John Kettler's arse in hoops and rip roof shots off pommy Libuser pretty much any day.

After spending way too much time hanging out in Hollywood after High School - I pulled it together, moved to San Diego, went to UCSD and stayed put in SD for about 10 years before running back to Hollywood (this time the Hollywood Hills) - now I am living in Carthay Circle with my boyfriend and a house full of cats. We're planning our wedding, running two businesses and keeping ourselves very busy.

While in the military I traveled to Japan, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, India, Pakistan, Kenya, Australia, and of course every country in the Persian Gulf region except Iran. Hope everyone from '87 is well. I got married in 2001. From '93 to '96 I was a member of the Houston Symphony Orchestra and since '96, I've been Principal Bass of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. I still waste time discussing the finer points of Rush, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden with Matt Umurhan.
Still living in beautiful L.A., that's Lower Alabama for you folks. I am a Project Manager for The REACH Group, a consulting firm within the oil & gas industry specializing in Technical Limits implementation. Our children are growing up too fast, and it won't be long before Jean-Michael (16) is off to college. He has aspirations of playing football for Auburn, LSU, or The United States Naval Academy. Lauren (9) is all about being a "princess", and I can tell that I will have to fight the boys off of her like flys! Jarrett (5) is every bit of 25 it seems. He definately has his own little personality that leaves others in the dust. As for Elizabeth and myself we just celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary on Dec. 31, 2007 and have no plans for calling quits anytime soon. She is a stay at home mom, PTO President, and part time writer for the Mobile Press Register, as well as the Lake Forester newspapers. I am still travelling much with my work both internationally and dom! estic, but never quite get to the west coast it seems. Anyway, would have loved to attend the 20th Reunion, but work kind of got in the way. God bless you all, and hope to run into some of you in the future.

Can't wait to see you all at our 20th!
After graduation attended SMCC for a while. I ended up working as a hair stylist and make-up artist for about 4 years. Decided I wanted to go back to school, talked my dad into hiring me as his secretary, and never did make it back to school. I did, however, end up as a paralegal (for the last 15 years). These days I spend my time running my husband's firm and being mommy to our 2 year old daughter adopted in Moscow last year.
After UCLA I worked in Insurance for a few years, hated it. Went to USC for an MBA. Came out and started www.GiftTracker.com Business is doing well and we continue to expand. Still sailing and singing every chance I get.
Graduated from U.C.S.B. in 1991 and now live in the Bay Area. Send me a message...

Hey everybody- Still in the same home (built by my Grandfather (where he was shot and killed by SWAT) and Uncle) and trying to buy it (almost impossible cause my mom wants a million). I want to keep it in the family but am giving up the dream. Live here with my fiance and a couple of Pepperdine students that rent. Lets see- Graduated Humboldt State with Industrial Techonology (Power and Transportation) with a minor in art (Ceramics). Came back to Malibu to teach at a Carden Malibu, which led to tutoring, which led to travel tutoring, which led to mentoring, which led to a Master's in Psychology while teaching at a non-public school that took baby g's that had been kicked out of all the other non-public schools in the San Fernando Valley. Then internship doing Case Management in Van Nuys totally burned me out from that field and am now taking a break from MFT license process. Want to work with kids doing light talk therapy while the kids are working on Ceramics. I fe! ll into some pretty amazing situations tutoring (why I misssed the last reunion)- have been to Germany, Egypt, France 7 times for three months on a 44' Swan sailboat where we sailed to Spain, Portugal, Amsterdam, Scotland and Norway. Have also tutored in Monaco (shook hands with the Prince of Monaco), England, New Orleans, Santa Barbara, and I know I am forgetting some places. Last trip was to Italy with my then Girlfriend, now Fiance. I lived in London for a spell as well. Now I am trying to get a ceramics business off the gound (see my website) and am tutoring for an agency in the Valley. Am still deciding what I want to do when I grow up :) Planning on going back on the boat again this summer with my fiance if the skipper can have us both. Never made very much money, no kids yet, almost married once before and almost had kids then, almost died in a huge force 12 storm in the middle of the Bay of Biscay- 40 foot waves for three days and nights with no engine and that w! as my second year sailing with a French Skipper and his son (they didn't speak English and I didn't speak french that well yet). Well- I guess that's me in a nutshell Couple of other notes- Mr Vincent passed away- He was a great teacher that brought History alive, and taught me more that he will ever know. Very sorry to have missed his funeral. Mr. Cox- You are also a great teacher and you have taught me more than you will ever know. I want to thank you and give you the respect you deserve. Mr. Jimenez- You are also a great teacher that brought together a wide variety of students and created a safe environment for sharing differnet viewpoints. Also- I heard that Julie Thiel passed away- I am very sorry to hear that as she was hilarious and I had a crush on her :( Oh Yeah- I also went through the Malibu Fire and lost 2/3 of my stuff including my yearbooks so this is great although more pictures would sure help- hey how do you put pictures here? If anybody is interested, at my website there are hidden travel pictures etc under all of my ceramic pictures. Also- Louis Leonard was in Boy Hits Car, a great though now defunct band. Try and give a listen- Live life while you are alive- something my old skipper always says.

It's been great reading up on everyone. Boy, this site sure brings back some memories. I can't believe how fast time has flown by. After high school I went to Humboldt State, graduated in "experimental agriculture" (just kidding), went to the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy and lived in Europe for a while, came back and recieved my MFA from Claremont Graduate University. I have been doing the art thing ever since. One of these days I'll get a real job. I live in New England now in a small town near the Berkshires with my wife and two wonderful kids. Peace and love to all of you!
