Well, I never spent much time at school anyway. I really just remember the folks from Malibu (Webster, Malibu Park). Iended up at Berklee College of Music, then went into Gameshow production hell! My hair is shorter now than the 'Hippie' style blonde locks of yesteryear (I sold out!). I moved to Vancouver, BC Canada in the early 1990's. I had a successful career Writing & Producing TV shows, but I never gave up on the music. I played the 'coffee house' circuit in BC. God how those Quebecers would freak when this obnoxious American yank would rip into Blues or Hendrix...at an acoustic venue! I would like to know how a few people are doin', like: Danielle Sarashon, Samantha Starr, Gigi & Alicia, Lydia Campbell, David Morris, etc...... I'm back in Malibu, full circle. It's not the same. I guess it's true that "you can't go home".
Hard to say if this is the right place to put this or not (I missed a year between Lincoln and Samo, so should have graduated in 81 with most of the people I hung with). After Samo I went to UCSB and majored in English. Also met my future wife, Shelly, there. We've been married 13...almost 14 years. Two boys, Jeremy, 10, and Joseph, 6, and a Gabriel, a huge dog who's not too bright, but very enthusiastic. After UCSB I spent several years working on a graduate degree at UCLA before running for my life. Worked in publishing for most of the 90s. Currently in my 3rd year of Law School at Loyola, hoping to start a new career in environmental law and land use. Fly fishing and cycling take up whatever time is left. Would be great to hear from anyone who actually remembers me.

My beautiful wife Karen just gave birth to our 6th child. Final score is 3 boys and 3 girls. I almost died from pneumonia last year. I spent a month in the hospital and had to undergo major surgery to reverse some of the complications. It was a humbling experience to go from biking, excercising, etc... to being in a walker, iv's, chest tubes, on oxygen, but I'm alive and I'm grateful to God for that. Life is short and at times difficult but I'm convinced of the love and goodness of God. May you find life through His Son Jesus Christ. God's blessings to my Samohi classmates of 1982.

Elizabeth Williams Carter, '82, is the Chief Meteorologist on the Perlan Project. This project's goal is to fly a manned sailplane to 100,000 feet. Phase one of the project is to fly a manned sailplane to 62,000 feet. This will take place from July - August 2002 in Omarama, New Zealand. The two pilots, Steve Fossett and Einar Enevoldson will attempt to break the world record of 49,009 feet set back in 1985. Dr. Elizabeth Carter will be providing the meteorology support for this project on-site. You can check the progress of this project at the Perlan web site: www.weatherextreme.com/perlan Elizabeth's husband, Rand Carter, '60, will come down to New Zealand for the last two weeks of her tour (to ski of course).
Hey '82 graduates, hope you are all doing great. Believe it or not, I am still living in Santa Monica. Don't get me wrong, I've been gone for some time to college and stuff, but SM is my home. I am definitely a Southern California girl. Graduated from UC Berkeley in Sport Psychology and have a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, but after working in counseling for a few years, I changed careers. I am now enjoying a very fullfilling and successful career as personal fitness trainer. Well if you remember from H.S., I was pretty much a jock back then. Haven't changed a great deal. Had to do something in the fitness industry. I love it. I was engaged, but it didn't work out, so it's back to single life and dating again. Any hotties out there, hee? I have two very hot crotch rocket motorcycles and ride recreationally every weekend. My family is local and I have a beautiful little niece with a nephew on the way. Life's good. What is going on with the rest of you?
