Thank you for setting up a home page. It is a nice way to connect with old friends. I participated in NETDAY96 which attempts to connect California schools to the internet. A great volunteer effort and a way for individuals to sign up to volunteer for various computer related tasks at the schools. I'm not sure how technically NETDAY96 was set up so that everyone who volunteered was added to the school page - but you might want to contact NETDAY and see if SAA could borrow some of the processes so that everytime someone signs up at SAA there isn't a lot of administrative duties.

I live in Berkeley so I can't volunteer at SAMOHI but if there was a page or two in the SAA homepage of requested materials (donations) and volunteer tasks for SAMOHI ALUMNI to help with, I sure that those in the area could volunteer and those of us farther away could send some donations or some materials. Also - A page about missing alumni could be helpful - so that if anyone knew addresses or locations they could write in. Anyway thanks for the HOMEPAGE - and I'll read it once in a while to check in...... :.)

Hi! I retired 2004 and am still loving the freedom! My husband Eddie Fisher('65)and I bowl and golf together and we have fun. We are doing quite a bit of traveling these days to visit our kids who are living far away. Our son, Dan Fisher ('90) is living near Detroit with his wife Nickie, and our granddaughters Ellie (4)and Amy Rain (2). Our daughter, Becky Fisher Fernandez ('92) has recently moved near Houston with her husband, Al, and our granddaughters, Toni (2) and Dani (1). Our grandgirls are all so precious to us. We are proud of our growing family! Life is pretty good, and we are well and happy, and thankful for that! Best wishes to all.

I guess I ended up on a slightly different career path than almost everyone else except Fred Black. I have been in federal law enforcement for more then thirty years and I am a Senior Supervisory Special Agent with a federal law enforcement agency. I now live in Arlington, VA about a stone's throw from DC. I also teach management and criminal justice part-time for several universities. I am hoping that we have a 35th reunion and I would be glad to help out in anyway that I can. I travel about 250K a year with my job so I try to get back to Santa Monica as often as possible. I have a 19 year old daughter who is in the Honors Biology Program at the University of Maryland. Not too shabby, especially since I still can't add.

Still in Guam. Married 30 years. Three kids, all graduated. One lawyer, one urban planner and one planning to go to graduate school in International Affairs. I want to see all my friend, especially the water polo team at the July 14, 2007 reunion at Fantasea Yacht Club in the Marina Del Rey. Perhaps the informal setting will get more of a turn out. I am still playing water polo on the Guam team. We need some 40+ and 50+ water polo players to complete two teams for a masters competition on the Gold Coast of Australia for Nov. 3-6. Please contact me at frederick.black@usdoj.gov or phone 671-479-4141 if you know anyone who can help us.

My youngest son just returned from an orchestra competition in Reno, Neveda. He spent two days talking about what a great time he had. He casually mentioned that a school named SAMOHI took first place. It was a blast from the past, to say the least, since I left California almost 38 years ago. I nosed around and found this site. What fun to read the info... Debbie Rathous and Jeanne Wade if you are out there e-mail me.

After graduating from Chapman University, I worked in advertising marketing for 20+ years developing strategic marketing plans. Although I didn't realize it at the time, I suppose all those SAMOHI term papers made me realize I had a love for research. I left my career, when I married for a 2nd time, to fix up a 1935 beach cottage and to raise my 2 sons: Devon now attends Villanova University outside of Philadelphia and Trent is a Sophomore in high school and plays JV volleyball (remember summer beach volleyball at La Costa Beach Club in Malibu?). I continue my love for research in managing financial portfolios and writing, and occassionally find time for golf. Hal and I live in Laguna Beach. Would enjoy hearing from my SAMOHI pals.

I have assembled what I believe to be a first class Hawaiian shirt collection over the years, and try to model them on a daily basis. Shorts, tropical shirt, and dark glasses are sort of the uniform of the day at Subic Bay, anyway. Shoes are optional. I am writing my dissertation for my Ph.D. at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and the Omaha campus Aviation Institute (UNOAI), in Educational Administration. Who would have thought?! It's been a while since I last looked over the list of folks who have posted to this site. It's great to see the list much longer now! I've been living in Northern Ca most of the years since graduating from CSU Northridge and after VISTA stints in Phiadelphia, Pa and Redding, Ca. I'm still working as a real estate appraiser and am looking forward to retiring in the near future. Cycling, backpacking, hiking, photography, gardening, travel, and cooking are my interests these days. My son Paul is a computer engineer (CalPoly SLO 2003) and works for Boeing on the defense side in St. Louis (F-18's). We'll be spending the week after Father's Day in Yosemite hiking and shooting the scenery. He just purchased a very nice 10 mp digital SLR camera. Now, I have camera envy....:( But, I'm happy that he can afford to buy better toys than I can. The week of July 4th will be my annual backpack trip to the Trinty Alps near Weaverville. In August a trip to Lolita in Humboldt County. ! Twenty of us from the local bike club spent 3 weeks in Sept/Oct 2006 cycling in Tuscany & Umbria. Suffice it to say, it was fabulous! Half the fun thinking about retiring is thinking about a great trip to take...any ideas??? If you are ever in the area (Woodland, just north of Sacramento) give a holler....I'm in the phone book. Current e-mail adress is above. My apologies reagrding canceling on the 40th reunion. Plans have changed. Best regards, Bill

Has it been 40 years since we graduated dear old Samohi! YIKES!!! Where has the time gone? I just retired from teaching elementary school for the Santa Monica Malibu Schools, after 33 years. I think that's time enough for doing most anything, no? Anyway, I'm still selling real estate in Los Angeles, and will probably continue. I plan to do more of the following: travel, read, jog, hit the gym, bike, hike, and nothing at all:) Hope to see you at the reunion!

I graduated from Samohi in 1967. My sister who I see has added her name graduated the year before. I am a Vietnam Vet and immediately upon leaving the service got married and started working with computers. I have four children two of which will be getting married in 1998 how quickly time passes. I have one grandson whom we are raising (what a blessing he is). Recently I started writing poetry again and will soon have some published in some anthology's. I have a few in some online magazines and forums. It's nice to be able to see names of some our classmates hope more will view these pages and add their names.

I only went to Samohi for about a year,(I was moved to four different High School before I dropped out)but it brings back many fond memories. I ended up finishing high School at North Hollywood High Adult School and having a career as a firefighter with the Torrance Fire Dept. When I retired from the fire Dept.I got accepted at UCLA, and I ended up finishing a degree in Ethnomusicolgy there. I now live with my family in Moorpark and teach guitar part time for the school district here. The person who works in the school office where I teach is also an alumni of Samohi (Same year).
