Linda and I are still living in Portland, Oregon (since 1977). We have been married 30 years as of last January. Our daughter, Sarah, got married last November to Jesus Gerardo Pena. They met when Sarah was living and working in Merida, Venezuela. I am still working in various parts of the software industry and Linda continues to work as the office manager for a psychologist. I occasionally hear from classmates and would love to hear from anyone who wishes to chat. Of course, when you call, I may not remember you at all... but I presume some of you also find your memories are not perfect anymore. I just found this site for the first time and was so surprised to see my name!! I've lived in Laguna Niguel since 1985. My wife and I run a law practice focusing on financial matters, estate, tax and investment planning. We have 4 children, the youngest 3 in college all over Socal (San Diego, Chapman, Loyola) and the oldest impatiently awaiting bar results after graduating last spring from Hastings. As you may imagine, we are exceedingly proud of all 4. We spend our free time playing golf & traveling--and every once in a great while I still set pen to paper in the faint belief that my novel will reach a conclusion. If it never does, the research in Barcelona & Florence has been a blast. I'd love to hear from any past friends. For those who remember the sr. class play, San Diego's Old Globe Theater performed Taming of the Shrew set in the Wild Wild West last summer--I think we beat them to the idea by 35 years, even if they did it a little better!

Hello, Classmates. I am installed in the Scripps Ranch area of San Diego with my wife, Denyse Beaudet from Québec, and we have had a daughter who is now in her second year at UC Sant Cruz. Denyse is writing a second book on children's dreams. I am a full-time psychologist doing psychotherapy, and am active religiously in the United Methodist Church and politically in the California Democratic Party Central Committee. Ten years ago I ran for the Assembly. I continue writing poetry.
In 1966 I married Bob. He was from Chicago and stationed in Monterey. Since then we have lived in Monterey, Virginia, Santa Monica, San Luis Obispo, Minnesota, West Virginia, Cleveland (OH), Toledo, and Richmond, IN.
Our sons Steve (29) & Tim (23) just got married within 10 weeks of each other. What a summer! Steve graduated from Purdue's Mechanical Technology program after he got out of the Navy. Tim will graduate from Purdue (Dec. 1998) in Computer Science and Math.
Shortly after college graduation, I stumbled into programming and have been doing it ever since. Currently I am a systems analyst with Dana Corporation. Last year I enrolled at Indiana University East in Information Management.
Somehow, I still find time to get on the Internet for fun.

Living in Santa Monica, selling homes for Sotheby's International Realty out of the Pacific Palisades office. My son is now 17, a junior at Samohi, busy playing trombone with jazz band, pit and symphony orchestras. At home he focus on the guitar and filmmaking when he isn't studying. We're gearing up for the great college search later this year.
I went into the Army shortly after graduation. Then moved to Northern Ca. in 1969. I currently live in Yreka Ca. and work in the Bay Area.
I was a Surveyor in the army and for twenty five years after. I am now doing engineering and inspection for fiber optic construction. Currently working with Sprint in San Mateo,CA.

The 40 year reuinion was very enjoyable. I regret not attending prior ones. After the reuinion (October '06), all I could think about was that period of time, and the many good times. I live in Newport Coast, and help run the family business. My three kids are grown (oldest on is 33), my second son Taylor is 28, daughter Natalie is 26, I couldn't be more proud of them. Janet & I enjoy going to the gym, and traveling. I love sportfishing. Don't surf anymore, but miss it terribly. I've been using the internet for a couple of years. Guam is a
small, but somewhat cosmopolitan, island. I've also lived on Tinian
and Saipan. My husband of twenty-eight years, Bill, is a sailing
fanatic. When our two children were teenagers, we lived on a sailboat
for over a year. Bill teaches drama and literature on the high
school level. I go boogie boarding once a week at one of the few
beaches here that isn't protected by a coral reef. My son, Sequoia,
lives in San Jose and is getting married in Malibu this August,
so I'll be in the neighborhood. My daughter, Willow, her husband
and my granddaughter live about five minutes from us.
Samohi was a wonderful school. I especially remember the art gallery.

After retiring from high pressure careers, John and I moved to beautiful Bainbridge Island. Having decided that we may have retired a bit too soon, we opened Calico Press and have enjoyed the ups and downs of publishing business for a number of years. We are currently winding down this business with our eye on our next venture, whatever it may be.
I was sorry to have missed our 40th reunion...can it be that long ago? I have remained in Southern California and am enjoying a wonderful life. I was together with my husband for 31 years before his passing. My career included being a Sales Manager of a large data information company where I oversaw sales and offices in the counties of Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino. I must have done something right as I "retired" in my 50's...ah, youth. I live in Mission Viejo and keep busy with volunteering, a bit of travel and an overactive social life. I turned the big "SIXTY OH MY GOD" in January and celebrated with a big old bash of 100 of my favorite people from my "past" Partying with me that night was Tom Dilworth who was my first boyfriend at Lincoln Junior High and Brad Cullison at Samo!!! Nancy Cane flew in that night to share in the laughs. What a night to remember. I enjoyed speaking with fellow classmates Harlan Dorin and Stu Smith. I keep in touch with Debbie Berger, Nancy Cane, Gordon Yarber and Susie Guetzow. I have wonderful memories of Samohi...especially the pep rallies and football games. It was a fun fun time. I hope we can all make the next reunion. Will we recognize each other? Until then, may you all be well.

I've been living and surfing in Hawaii since 1970. Graduated from Univ. of Hawaii @ Hilo. Opened up Orchid Land Surfboards in 1972. Still surfing and shaping surfboards for the shop. Married in 1976. We have one daughter, age 10.
Life is so good I am trying to work less and less and play a whole lot more. My daughter is in Vancouver attending the University of British Columbia and I am (although still involved in home restorations) cruising way too much!!! I just hate it... haha! I still live in Granite Bay, CA ........... just a small distance from Sacramento.
After we graduated from Pepperdine, My husband Marlin and I went to Japan as missionaries. We have one son, Ken, 22. Come see us if you're ever in Japan.
I see all these familiar names and there is so much to remember. This website has put me in touch with some old friends and it's been just great to take the time to catch up. Through some of you, I have linked up with a few who are not listed here AND my old sister-in-law (we were married to brothers) who was ahead of me 7 years at Samo, and she doesn't even do computers! Pretty miraculous how our ability to communicate has changed. Life is good in Northern CA. My daughter is in her third year of college as an Art History major and attempting to get her teaching degree. When school starts this year, she will go back as the newly elected Student Body President. I am thrilled that she has become so self motivating. Back during high school days I wasn't sure she'd do much more than a hair over the minumum, so life is good and mom isn't so stressed anymore! I'm still buying and restoring old homes even though I do it less and less these days. I stick to one at a time since I still enjoy it but would rather play more now. In fact, cruising with my ex sister-in-law has been a nice result of finding her through people on this website! Good health to you all!

He's married to an Italian Defense Lawyer and they have one daughter almost 3 and another child due in June, 2005. Spent most of my career as a high flying business woman (??), travelling the world organising exhibitions/conferences and writing newletters for various industries. Now my son is now the high flying businessman (!!) travelling the world, whilst I'm just another member of his staff working for both companies, sitting behind a computer all day, in his offices facing the port of Genoa. The thing about adventures is, you never know how they will turn out. We loved our recent sojourn in Maine and will now continue the adventure in another beautiful, and entirely different, part of the country - Santa Fe.
It seems the older I get the more I appreciate my time at Samohi. It was great to see so many old, (I mean young) friends at our last reunion.

I have been recruited to serve as the Vice President for Advancement at St. John's College in Santa Fe, NM beginning. Deb and I loved living in Maine and are now off on another adventure. And, it will be a lot easier to visit our daughter Katie, who lives in Tucson.
It's been so long since I left California. Sanmohi is certainly a remarkable school and I remember it well. Not long after graduation, I moved to New York city and after a decade, settled out here on Cape Cod where I opened an art studio. I enjoy my work and have no intention of retiring.

After 35 amazing, challenging, thrilling years as an Oxnard High School math teacher and department chair I have retired in order to continue to ensure that I have a wonderful day everyday. I have 2 lovely children, adopted at birth and when he came from Korea at 2.... Katy, 28 this month and Scott, 26 next month. I also have a third son (who adopted me after I was his football buddy at OHS) Rob, a 6th year senior at Sac State turning 23 this month. I became the person I am during the 35 years I was married to Bill and I am now single, since 2003. It pleases me to share that I have met my travel goals since retirement and have made at least one trip each month since June 2006. I continue to stay connected to the Oxnard High School community and an incredible circle of family and friends. We are only here for a short time so it better be a good time. My entire career has been in education from junior high choral music to math to counseling to magnet coordinator to counselor to college counseling. That is where I planted my feet. I spent 12 years as a College Counselor and currently work as an adminstrator in LAUSD coordinating the gifted and college programs in our local district. After high school I join the Navy and spent two years in Vietnam and two years touring the world. I went to Santa Monica College for two years and was recruited by Security Pacific National Bank in 1975 and moved to Orlando, Florida in 1976 for a regional position. I've been a mortgage Banker for over 29 years. I love Florida (Hurricanes and all).I have two wonderful children, Bryan 20, and Jessica 18. I remarried last year to a beautiful woman named Peggy. I've spent more years on Guam than anywhere else. Right now I live in Troutdale, Oregon at the start of the Historic Columbia Highway. I know some Mandarin and am learning to play the gu zheng. I've been to China and Israel - which were never places I planned on visiting. I went to Israel to visit the Baha'i International sites in Haifa and Akka. I took my oldest grandchild with me to China. I've also spent time in Palau. I've taught first, fourth and sixth grade and well as gifted education. My husband Bill and I have been married for 38 years. Our son, Sequoia, is 36 yrs. and our daughter, Willow, is 34 yrs. old. Our grandchildren are 11, 9, 6 and 4 years old. After 20 years at Mammoth Mountain, then 10 years in SoCal, I've been in NW Washington for nearly 4 years. I am now in the Lake Samish area after several years in Anacortes. I currently work at the BP Refinery [formerly Arco(there are 4 refineries in the area)] as a millwright/machinist. The area appeals to me. I hope everyone from all classes have a good time at the 35 year "lets get together reunion" that Melody Oksa and Bill & Marcella Brideau are putting together on Oct 6th.

I've been living in Georgia since 1993 with my husband Mark. We've been married now for 6 years. We do miss the climate in California but not the rat race it can become. My son, Michael age 29,will be getting married on May 18. He moved out to Georgia after four years in the Navy. He graduated from University of Georgia - Athens with a BS in environmental studies. Dovey Ohanian and I were married in 1972 and our daughter, Devon, was born in 1974. I taught at Samohi until 1980. We then moved to Big Bear, where we lived for a year, so that I could be a varsity basketball coach at Big Bear HS. After that year, we moved to Orange County as I took a position at El Toro HS as the varsity basketball coach. We have lived here since. I resigned as varsity basketball coach in 1994 but still teach U.S. History and have been coaching the freshmen for the past five years. Dovey has been running the computer learning center at La Madera Elementary school for the past 15 years. Devon graduated from El Toro High School in 1991 and UCI in 1995. She teaches elementary school, was married in 1999, and became a mom on July 23, 2001 when Avery Michelle was born. She and her husband, Jeff, who is also an elementary school teacher, are great parents and Dovey is the best Grandmother!! We are all very active in our church and we are fortunate that we are able to spend a good deal of time together as a family.
Dovey (Ohanian) and I are in our 23rd year of living in Lake Forest, California. Dovey runs the computer lab at La Madera Elementary School and I teach U.S. History at El Toro High School. After 27 years, I have retired as a basketball coach, including 14 years as the boys varsity coach at El Toro HS. Our daughter Devon was married on July 24, 1999 and she and her husband, Jeff, both are elementary school teachers. They are also the proud parents of Avery (born July 23, 2001) and Jacob (born October 1, 2003). Needless to say, Dovey and I are loving our role as grandparents. We are also very involved in our church, so our lives our full in many ways.

We moved from Virginia to the Dallas / Fort Worth area in April of 2005 in preparation for retirement and to get away from the cold winters on the east coast. I retired from the Navy after 24 years, and currently work for the state of Texas in employment services. Francine and I have 3 kids and 11 grandkids and have been married for 35 yrs. I am looking forward to seeing many old friend at the reunion next year.

I live outside Sacramento and am vice president of a consulting engineering company managing water projects. Carla and I have been married for 29 years. Our daughter just graduated from the University of Oregon and our son is studying architectural engineering at Calpoly. Carla works for the state as an analyst and I have retired from the Air Force reserve as a lieutenant colonel. We enjoy travel, gardening, hiking, cycling, etc. We have recently gotten back in touch with some Samohi classmates and would welcome the opportunity to hear from and vist with others!
Ed and I are still enjoying Redwood City but we are also building a small home in Amador County. I am now a landscape designer and working with a partner. My daughter, Lesley is married, living in San Francisco, and working for an interior designer. My son, Patrick has moved home and is attending classes at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. I am lookng forward to the 40th reunion.
I am still here in Cali enjoying life, retired as vocational instructor and now working in a clinical research center. It is verying interesting. I have 3 children and 3 grands with 2more grands on the way this summer. I have been in touch with some of my classmates, but would love to hear from more.
