Hi everyone from the class of 1964. It dosen't seem possible that so many years has passed. I would love to hear from anyone that graduated from that year. I am living in North Carolina now.
I joined the Peace Corps after college. Upon returning from the Philippines, I became director of a family planning program in Tulare County, CA. Subsequently got a MPH from the University of Michigan and moved to the Washington area. I own several houses in Arlington, VA and have written two books on property management.
Recently moved from San Jose to the desert southwest.

Moorpark High school honors Vietnam veteran. Contributed by: Dave Betti on 4/30/2007 On April 27, 2007 Vietnam Veteran and past president of the Vietnam Veterans of Ventura County, Inc. Mr.Richard Camacho received a special plaque from Moorpark High school and a certificate from the Veterans of Foreign Wars post 502 in Moorpark, Calif. recognizing his service as a speaker for 20 years! The event is class put on by Moorpark High school teacher Jeanine Alexander for history students to see and hear from actual Vietnam Veterans about their service to their Country while serving in Vietnam. The students range from freshmen to seniors and the event takes place during classes that start at 7:30 in the morning and lasts until 2:30 in the afternoon. The veterans share their stories of time served in Vietnam, as well as their views on the country and the United States involvement. The students then have a chance to ask the veterans questions about their service, and have a chance to look at some of the memorabilia the veterans bring to share. This is a special honor that was bestowed on Mr. Camacho, as well a complete surprise. The guest has been coming to Moorpark High school since 1987, and has brought many veterans along with him to share their stories as well. This year, besides Richard Camacho, other Vietnam veterans included Tim Tobin, who has been coming for over eight years, Paul Calcaterra, Ventura Counties retired Veterans Service Officer, and current president of the Vietnam Veterans of Ventura County, Inc. Dave Betti. I will be coming back as long they have this class Mr. Camacho states, and as far as he is concerned, this is the only class he is aware of that covers anything on Vietnam. I have certainly enjoyed sharing any history we can regarding this period in our lives, this is also a great healing for many vietnam veterans who have returned, and for us the ones we shall never forget!
My daughter, a '96 grad, steered me over here. Since Samo, I've graduated from UCLA, become an aerospace engineer, married Filomena Perrone, a '70 Samo grad, and had two wonderful children, both of whom are grown and married.
Hello SAMOHI 64. It was a joy to read about all of you. I sold my software business in 2001 and have been a bum ever since. Even though my wife, two daughters, and friends keep me joyously busy, being a bum is getting old so I’m starting another software business. I hope to see all of you at our 50th reunion and "to thee all hail."

Ah, the memories! The teachers - Mr. Higbee and Richard Wagnon in particular - what an opportunity we had. Am especially proud of the Serenaders truimph at the Hollywood Bowl's Battle of the Bands. Sweepstakes winners! Am looking forward to the 40th reunion. Since 1992 I have been in business as "db cooper's WHOLESALE Music Exchange", buying-selling-trading used CDs and LPs here in beautiful almost "down-town" Burbank. Would love to see any classmates AND their music collections!! Come on down!
My husband (Albert, Class of '55) and I currently live in Loomis, California (Sacramento area). Our interests including lots of golf, riding our horses and worldwide travel. We have one son, Jason (23 years) who currently resides and attends school in Chico. We miss living in Southern California (we've had enough "country" life)so we plan to move back sometime in the near future. Albert is an Electronic Engineer Manager for the Department of Defense and I am currently working at Hewlett Packard in Roseville, California. We'd both like to say "Hi" to all our Samohi friends from years past.
Went to work for GTE in 1967 - still there.
One son, Michael who now works for Inglewood P.D., and one beautiful
grandaughter, Bayli, almost 4 years old.
I moved to San Jose after high school, married, have one daughter, Rachel, but no grandchildren yet. We lived in Colorado Springs for many years but Rachel got a job at NYU, so I'm sponging off her and seeing all the Broadway shows we can manage. I love New York. Would love to hear from anyone who fondly remembers our wonderful time in school.
Hi to everyone! At this age, I still have all my teeth, most of my hair, no prison record, and I don't wear mom's clothes, so I guess I'm doing ok compared to a lot of what I see. I'm in high tech biz; helped take one company public in '94 and working on my second. Married to the most remarkable woman, and two beautiful but challenging daughters. Still play music, but moved from sax/clarinet to drums, and play in a local rock band on weekends for fun. Hope all you Vikes are doing well. High school today just ain't what it used to be is it?
Greetings to those of the Class of 1964.
Regrets from Canada for not attending but all the best wishes for a successful and happy event..
I am looking forward to the 40th Reunion as by then I will have retired from business and have lots of time to travel..
Again all the best from your northern neighbour.

After two bad marriages I finally found a great guy in Utah. Moved there in 1977. I have a daughter and son. One lives in San Diego and one lives in Boston (with me in-between). I worked for telephone companies for 37 years and retired from Qwest Comm. in 2001. I now work for the Shriners organization (the guys with the red fez hats that support the Shrine Hospitals). My husband is a Mason and Shriner too. I have been in Eastern Star since 1981 and have been the Secretary for 9 years. I think of my years at Samohi with fondness. I plan to totally retire to Oregon (when I can start collecting my Social Security in 2009).Hello to anyone who remembers me (with affection, of course!)
Elaine Jewett Baell (64) and Maureen Hansen Johnson (64) reunite at the airport in Salt Lake City, June 2006. The last time we saw each other was the 20th reunion in 1984. "It was great to have even a short visit in between flights". (See photo)
Although I haven't lived in Santa Monica since high school graduation, my mother just moved from Sorrento Beach this month (Feb. 2001). So, I've continued to call Santa Monica 'home' and find that staying close to best high school friends like Delonna EYER Kaiser and Jill BARNETT Nester becomes increasingly important. My daughter Ali just moved to Santa Monica this past Fall, so now she has to put up with lots and lots of Santa Monica stories. I'm living in Fort Collins, Colorado with my husband of 32 years, Joe Berry and I'm a professor at Colorado State University. However, I'd still like to be spending all day at the beach with my high school buddies!

On Dec. 16, 2003, my wife Rosie and I will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. We live in Berkeley, have raised three wonderful children, the oldest of which, Steve, died last May of heart problems. Our son Bodhi is an entrepreneur, giving hanggliding lessons over the SF Bay, has his realty broker's license, owns three homes and is planning on expanding his barony. He's married to songstress Hayley. Allegheny is married to a wonderful guy, her former physical therapist, Alex. No grandkids yet. I'm winding down my law practice (after a 15 year journalism career) and hope to be spending much time in my woodshop making custom furniture and things. Rosie is a statistician at Exponent, Inc. and is in demand from corporations facing product liability lawsuits. Life is sweet up here in the Bay, but I miss classmates from the old alma mater.
When one get's on in year's you begin to think about those who had a place in shaping your life, and in the bigining, those are you. I have spent most of my life in and around southern California and have seen many changes. It's time to leave. My wife ans I became involved in horse rescue some years ago and it's become so big, given the economy, that we have decided to jump ship and move to a blink in the road called: Yellow Jacket, Colorado, (South Western), purchased 160 acres and are basically starting over with bare land, except for the crops that are there. Building a 6400 sqft shop building, hay storage building, 4000 sqft house and horse facilities. The closest major interstate is 150 miles away, and thats a good thing. After graduating from SAMOHI I spent the summer working around the town and joined the Navy in October, ended up serving on active duty for 4 yrs 3 mos & 1 day durung the Viet Nam conflict, with 29 months of that in the Tonkin Gulf Yaught Club. After I was discharged I went to SMC and eventually received a degree in Manufacturing Engineering (AA). I began to race motorcycles off road and continued to do so until 1995 when I retired from that while I could still walk. The culmination of that experience was to solo the Baja 500 in 1995. I owned an independant motorcycle repair shop in Santa Monica for 22 years, have worked in the Hybrid vehicle arena, been a machinist, fabricator, welder etc. Now I'm a farmer/rancher/truck driver/horseman. I have 5 children, ages: Boys, 34 & 30, Girls 24, 22, & 17. The first four were from a previous encounter, the last from my current wife Karen. Perhyaps you've seen my last daughter in the Titanic movie, the little redhead in steerage, she was 4 1/2 then. I hope to see those of you who can make it to the reunion in September '08 on my birthday. Always, Ward Landis

Greetings to everyone. There are many names I recognize on the list. I lived in the Santa Monica area for many years after graduation and went to Santa Monica College and then Cal State Northridge. I was a science teacher at first and and then went into the Peace Corps as a volunteer in Zaire(present day Democratic Republic of Congo) in central Africa. I later worked as a Peace Corps staff member in Washington, DC for many years and still live in the Washingon, DC area with my three kids. Two are in college and the oldest who graduated from the University of Maryland now works for a non-profit organization. My wife passed away in 1995. I currently work for the Environmental Protection Agency in the Budget Office.
Our website pretty much covers all that has been happening during the past 13 years. After spending 20+ years in the Reno area, we retired to the beautiful Ozarks in Northwest Arkansas. After building our home in Bella Vista, we are now able to get back on the road with our RV and see this beautiful country we are so fortunate to call home. Would love to hear from you . . .so, if you remember me, drop me an email, or if you live in this neck of the woods or traveling through . . . call to say "hi".
I've been married to Linda Eubanks "66" for the past ten years. We now live in Northern Idaho and are enjoying our life together.
Business Owner, Nightingale & Associates, consultants in human resources management and organizational development; Founding organizer and current VP of Grass Roots Venice Neighborhood Council, 17-years membership in SM-Venice Reunion Organization, BA/ Liberal Arts/Antioch Univ.; MA/Public Admin/CSULB; proud Alum of Samohi.
It's so good to see all these familiar names and to read the bio's. I live in NC with my husband Tom. I retired 3 years ago as Clubhouse Mgr. from the Hendersonville Country Club. We now enjoy cruising as often as we can. We are not able to travel as much as we would like because my mom had a stroke a few years ago so obviously I have an obligation here but we enjoy our homelife as well. We live in the beautiful mountains of NC but I still miss Santa Monica and the beach. I have to wonder why, when we are now starting our sixties, we think back to our high school days. I can still remember more clearly certain events in high school than I remember what happened last month. I did attend the 20th reunion on the QM but socialization was pretty much limited to the actual dinner table although I did have a really good time reuniting with my tablemates. I think this is a great site and would also like to thank the people who work to make this possible.
CEDAR CITY UT
I'm living in beautiful Cedar City, Utah now. It's known for being the 'Festival City' for the Shakespeare Festival and gateway to the gorgeous National Parks. Currently working at So.Utah University. I miss the beach, but get back to visit my sisters in Santa Monica as often as I can. Even though I may not remember many from my high school days, it will be fun to go to the 40th class reunion for '64.
After teaching school for ten years in LA I moved to Virginia, met my wonderful husband, David, a Golf Professional, got a Master's from The University of Virginia and taught for another ten years. We then moved to Florida and in 2002 we moved to California! I'm glad to be "back home"! We live in Bermuda Dunes, near Palm Springs, great golf courses! We love the desert and I'm I'm enjoying every minute of teaching 6th grade!! So great to see all the familiar names and read the great bios.

Hi. What's to say? I'm old like the rest of you guys! I am very anxious to hear from any/all of you and reminisce together. I still remember those days, don't you? Unfortunately I was never able to make any of the reunions but would love to re-connect. Feel free to call or e-mail; (310) 965-7585 (days).
Took me 5 years to get a BA from LSJU and 3 to get an MBA from Berkeley (they threw me out of the PhD program) as I generally passively resisted the Vietnam War and inhaled deeply. Moved to Las Vegas, married my first and so far only wife(she refuses to allow me a second), a Beverly Hills gal who runs the Nevada Ballet Theatre(she never did dance), raised 3 kids none of whom seems likely to soon get out of college or make us grand parents, but despite these failings give us the greatest joy. Built a company that builds houses, lots of 'em. I still spend more time thinking about stuff than doing anything. Recently became a Quaker and Pres of the Las Vegas Philharmonic despite being barely spiritual and musically ignorant. About a 1000 classmates and over almost 40 years I've averaged talking to less than one a year though I visit SM at least once a month. Go figure. Blessings to all.

I have been teaching for the past 25 years at the university level. I now teach at the College of Business Administration, University of Nevada, Reno, and an online graduate business class at Norwich University, Vermont. In addition, I have written a book (Vietnam: My War – A Memoir) about my true-to-life experiences in Vietnam (USMC: 1964 – 1967) that I hope to have published next year. In the meantime, I have been married for 30 years and have a wonderful 24-year old son by the name of Joshua.
Moved east after school, haven't seen or heard from anyone since I left. Would love to hear from anyone to catch up.
After college worked for State Farm Ins. Major Inv. Div., and MICOM Systems in Simi Valley. Moved to Camarillo and worked as Financial Mgr for YTC America Inc until I became disabled in 2002. Married and had 6 children, when they were grown, we adopted 6 more. Left our beautiful Pacific Ocean for the green grass of Texas. Became a Bible student in 1970. Love the bible and love sharing it's teaching with others. Would welcome emails from classmates. It was great recognizing so many names from so many years ago. Wow we are really 60. Remember when our parents seemed old at 40?
Hi everyone. It is fun to see some of these names from so long ago. Dianna

Married for over 31 years to my wife Joyce. Two children Benjamin and Julianne. They are recent graduates from the University of Arizona (2000). Joyce and I are still living in Santa Monica. I recently retired from the beach after 40 years of lifeguarding.
After graduating from Samohi, I began working for Douglas Aircraft. I worked for a group of engineers that were responsible for producing the engines for the Apollo program. I married Fred Allard (Samohi class ‘62), and we moved to the San Jose area where we were both employed in the computer field. Fred worked for Hewlett Packard, and I worked for Control Data Corporation. We moved to Phoenix AZ in 1971, where we began our family: a daughter Jennifer, and son, Scott. In 2000 Fred and I moved to a very small town called Patagonia, AZ. Yes, it is quite different living in the “sticks” after being in the big cities for so long. Our town boasts a “legal population” of 850, and we actually have one painted crosswalk. It is 20 miles to the nearest stop light located in Nogales, AZ. We are both retired and enjoy traveling around the U.S. as much as we can. We still get back to Southern California to visit family several times a year. Would love to hear from any old friends from Samohi, Lincoln or even Franklin. You can email me direct at kla283@msn.com
I'm living back in the Dallas area and still running a logistics company. I enjoy scuba diving, photography and traveling.

If you are in the Phoenix area find an old Viking(almost 60!!!!) at the Vineyard Church of Surprise, AZ.

After studying Latin (vale, Mr. Robert!) Russian and German, I went on to teach mostly English in high school for 20 years. Then I switched to social work, which has led me to a practice in psychoanalysis in East Lansing, Michigan. Recently a grandfather. It is all beyond wonderful.
