Hello, This is Larry (Andy) Anderson. A neighbor of mine recently attended a Samohi reunion for the 62 class and gave me some reference materials to look at. One thing led to another and I found the Samohi alum website. Man, a lot has happened since graduation. Briefly, I live in Laguna Niguel, Ca with wife my wife (Vilma) of 32 years. We chose no kids and have traveled the world as our hobby. Retired from Boeing (both of us) and are now happily living the good life. Anyway, I could talk forever. Give me a note if you would be interested in rehashing old times. With fond regards, Larry

After graduating from Samohi, I served for 3 years in the US Navy, then 4 years in the US Air Force. Came back to live in Malibu in 1967. Worked for cable TV companies for a few years as a technician; apprenticed as a VW mechanic and worked for VW for 4-1/2 years; worked as a boat electrician for 4 years, built 2 39-foot sailboats, then went to Alturas, California to work as a radio D.J. at KCNO (a great way to learn how to starve to death). Worked for operating telephone companies for 4 years as a radio tech, and ended-up working for the City Of L.A. as a "Communications Electrician" since 1984. Due to retire in 2005. We are hoping to sell our home at that time, and spend a few years traveling around North America in either a motorhome or a 5th-wheel trailer. Have been married for 32 years ( to the same person!) and have two children, Brian, 21 and Bonnie, 15. Hope all of you are having happy, healthy and fruitful lives.

An update on me... I graduated from Cal State Long Beach in 1964. My husband, Jim, and I have been living in Seal Beach for 33 years. We have three sons: Russell is married and lives in San Francisco, Greg is married and lives in Santa Cruz, Kevin is still single and lives here in Orange Co. I and my husband were in Ottawa, KS for a year helping my mother. We have moved back to Reno and our new address is above, along with my new Email address. Would love to hear from classmates anytime. It's good to be "home." We lived in Reno from 2004 to 2006 and liked it well enough to return. Kay Hunskor Harbeck is here, too,and we have rekindled a friendship.
I married my husband Dick (University High School, 1960) in 1966 and began writing songs. I've written many songs including the #1 country hit "Sweet Country Woman" (which was recorded by Johnny Duncan and produced by Billy Sherrill). I've had my songs recorded by Johnny Paycheck, Loretta Lynn, Crystal Gayle, Tommy Overstreet, R. B. Greaves, Vicky Lawrence, Jan and Dean, Cilla Black, Sha Na Na, Sammy Johns, etc. etc. My husband started the singing duo "Dick and Dee Dee" in 1961 ("The Mountain's High", "Thous Shalt Not Steal", etc.) and I joined him as part of the duo in 1969. We continue to do shows on the "Oldies but Goodies" circuit and have a lot of fun. Dick and I have also written several books, "The Rock and Roll Cookbook" and "The Country Music Cookbook." My hobby is collecting dollhouses and miniatures.
After graduation from Samohi, went to nearby Pomona College (Mathematics,’64), where I met my wife Barbara Wallace (Art History,’65). On to graduate school at Case Institute of Technology in Cleveland (MS ’66). My career has focused on mathematical analysis and developing computer models of physical processes. I still work at SAIC in San Diego, and my specialty is signal processing. I try to take off three months a year. Barb and I raised three children, and have two grandsons. 2004 will be our 39th anniversary year. What a great journey! Empty nesters now, we play tournament bridge, hike, snorkel and kayak, and enjoy viewing the performing arts. Visiting museums and standing in awe of fine arts (painting and sculpture) is the highlight of our traveling. Since 2000, we have been on the oceans a great deal, as Bridge Hosts on cruise ships, teaching and running bridge games. My hobbies are early navigation and navigators, comparative religion, mysticism and digital photography.
After graduating SAMOHI in 1960, I went to SMCC for 2 years before joining the Army during the Viet Nam War. Stationed in Germany where I married my wife in 1966. Then moved back to SM, graduated from Northridge U. 1969 and became a Probation Officer. Graduated from Pepperdine U. 1973 and now work in the SM Superior Courts just accross the street from SAMOHI. My passions are Tai-Chi, Chi-Gong, Chinese Brush Painting, and Yosemite camping. Plan to retire in a few years and spend more time in Yosemite.
I've been married for 30 years with 2 children and all of us living in Tucson, Arizona (love it here!). About 10 years ago I caught up with Pam Hughes, but she's moved and I've lost track (Pam, where are you??) I retired 4 months ago from Raytheon, but didn't like retirement, so I'm back to work for Computer Science corp as a Tech. I don't see evidence of a reunion yet. Hope something comes up. Anyone who remembers me, please feel free to drop me an e-mail.
My life in a nutshell....been married 44 yrs, raised four children, have seven grandchildren. My husband spent 28 yrs in the Navy. We left CA in '68 and have not been back to live since. We've grown accumstomed to a slower pace. After Navy retirement we lived in Springfield, MO for 13 yrs (loved it), but moved onto family property in Pensacola, FL after in-laws died in 2002. After Hurricanes Ivan, Dennis, & Katrina, the indomitable heat and humidity, we plan on selling and moving back to MO. I do wish we had 8.5 acres in CA....but, oh well, RE is cheaper in our area of FL and MO and what we do get will go far.

I live and work in Bakersfield weekdays, then drive to my other home in Wofford Heights (on the shore of Lake Isabella) for weekends. My work as a mechanic at Three-Way Chevrolet is hard and physical, but it keeps me in shape. My wife searched for Jim Holman, one of my long, lost school friends, in our daughter's alumni directory. She found him living in Idaho. We had a two-hour conversation and are planning on getting together next year. We spoke as if we had been apart for only six months or so. I highly recommend the directory for anyone trying to get back a part of their past.
We've been living in Juneau, Alaska, having moved from California in 1995. Rebecca, our daughter, recently married and will finish college next year. Emily is in Sitka, a beautiful island 100 miles from here, student teaching and will get her credential and Masters' this summer. Would love to see any of you if you want to have an Alaskan adventure!!! (5/97)
Hello to all! We are finally out of the "West side". My mother passed away in December 2004 at 97. My wife and I have since moved to Prescott, AZ and just love it. Still a kid a heart I enjoy the mechanical and driving aspects of drag racing. I have also carried on my mother's genealogy research with about 3000 family members in my database. If you have considered doing your family genealogy, 5dollarsoftware.com has "Family Tree Maker 9" for (what else) $5.00.(As of 10/05) For those who attended with my kids: Michael is moving to Vermillion, KS in December '05, Tara has moved to Cleveland, OH and Kari is working for an architectural firm in Santa Monica. Keep in touch! Ed
We are moving back to the Houston area from Central Texas to be near our 4 kids and 7 grandchildren.

My wife Anne and I are retired, and have lived in the San Bernardino Mountains for 20 years. We have six daughters, and nine grandchildren between us, and enjoy spending time with them. After being with a theater group in L.A. for 5 years, in 1972 I ventured to South America where I lived first in Peru and then Colombia for 25 years. My wife is from there and our children are completely bilingual. Besides teaching school abroad and having the pleasure of playing Don Quijote in Man of La Mancha (in both Eng. and Span. it is wonderful to be a citizen of the world. The spirit of the Baha'i Faith has animated our lives. "The earth is but one country and mankind its citizens."

I MOVED FROM HAWAII LAST YEAR BACK TO CALIFORNIA AND I MISS MY ISLANDS IN THE,
Home Teacher with LAUSD. Recently celebrated 35th anniversary with Rich (Merriman'59). Daughter Heidi was in D.C. a few years, first as the "other White House intern" the year before Monica, later as a grad student at Geo.Wash.U. and then, finally employed. We're glad that she has returned to Southern CA and is now closer to home - working for KPMG Consulting in San Diego.
hey, spears and I would like to know where the 40 year reunion (Y2K special edition) is being held. Or, are we all dead?
Left sunny California for sunnier Arizona in 1969. Then, after many years of desert beauty but "green tree deprivation syndrome", moved on to southern Illinois for seven years. In 1999 retired to northern Wisconsin which is my husband's homeland. I am adjusting to some sub zero temperatures but sometimes, as I shovel snow from the driveway, ask myself: what's a California girl doing here?
Does anyone out there know anything about Margot Stilwell or Judy Selmyhr? These are two old buddies of mine I'd love to contact.
I am like so many others, wonder where the time has gone. I still feel very young, but I know better. Had 2 children of my own and 2 step daughters. All of our children are doing very well and in this day and age we feel very fortunate for that. Between all 4 of them we now have 11 grand children. Going for a dozen may be difficult. I have had 2 bouts of Hodgkin's lymphoma cancer and in Dec. 02 I had a stem cell transplant (using my own stem cells)at Stanford hospital. I am now thankfully cancer free, but I did have to retire as a result of the extensive treatments. Modern medicine is absolutely amazing and so was my husband who took care of me for months. Look forward to seeing all of you at the reunion Ginny

Some of you might remember my weekly Evening Outlook columns about Samohi students and events. I also wrote for the Samohi paper. One year out of high school, while attending Santa Monica City College, I ran into an former junior high classmate and we wound up recording a record together. The Mountain's High started the decade long career of Dick and Dee Dee. We performed with high profile artists like the Beach Boys, Rolling Stones and many others. Dick and I were fortunate to tour the United States, Europe, Canada and Japan during our Sixties career. To view vintage videos and see excerpts of my book, "Vinyl Highway," singing as Dick and Dee Dee, you can visit www.dickanddeedee.com. I spent the Seventies in Big Sur, sort of a "back-to-the-land" endeavor, not without it's challenges (I'm currently writing another memoir "Love From Big Sur."). Returning to the Los Angeles area in the Eighties, I've lived in Pacific Palisades for most of the time (except for three years in Santa Monica and one in Benedict Canyon)where my husband Kane and I raised three children. I worked in fashion tv product placement, bookeeping, helping produce major charity fashion events, and had a 21 year career in property management before taking up the challenge of writing a book. It took four and a half years to complete Vinyl Highway. It should hit the book stores by Fall 2007, but advance copies are available on the web and also at Village Books in Pacific Palisades. I'm glad we have a web site for Samohi High and honor all those who put it together. Hope to see some of you in the future.
After graduation I entered SMCC went on to San Jose State. I became a middle school teacher, earned a doctorate, became a public school administrator and recently retired after 35 years of service. I am free to ride my harley all over the country, and visit friends. So pop a cold one if ya see me coming.
I am sad to report that my sister, Carolyn Sutton, a Samohi graduate of the class of 1960, passed away on April 8th after a valient struggle with cancer. Always a seeker, she moved to Sequim, Washington, a little more than a year ago. She was a retired secondary education teacher and had two sons, Greg Schmidt of Seattle, and Alex Rizzo of Mexico. Peace.
I'm a retired software engineer. The most interesting job was working at Cape Kennedy during the first lunar launch. In high school we took a field trip to UCLA to look at a computer. Things have changed greatly since graduation!

After Samohi I went to Stanford and MIT studying mechanical engineering and human factors. I have enjoyed teaching on and off at MIT and Stanford. I was 8 years at Xerox doing computer-user interface design, then 6 years at ID-TWO which became IDEO a world-wide industrial design consultancy. I have just been "retired" from 8 years at Interval Research where we did a lot of exciting research on people and computers but missed the web.

After leaving Syracuse,NY for Virginia I have crossed alot of our country. My daughter promised me that Virginia would be alot like California weather wise and in accessing many forms of entertainment. Add to that the amazing amout of American history im my area. The only difference is the humidity and that I see Hurricane Evacutaion signs every where I go. I WILL TAKE MY FEW SECONDS OF AN EARTHQUAKE to having warnings from June until November. California is still the best. Take care and Stay Cool, Marie
Curt Zimmerman recently completed his ministry as Interim Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, Wheaton, IL. He has now taken up his fifth intentional interim position as Interim Rector, St Patrick's Episcopal Church, Incline Village, NV on the shore of Lake Tahoe. He continues to enjoy walking the journey with people at important times in their lives, so leading congregations of the Eiscopal Church during times of change, conflict, or transition is challenging and never dull.
