Hi to SAMO friends- After graduation in 1959 a stint in the Air Force (Texas, Mississippi and Kassel, Germany), married Karen Simonsen (Class of ‘60), then back to school- SMCC and Cal State, Northridge, concluding with a degree in Design. Then, into the real world. Karen, our daughter, Kelly, (Birth Class of S.M.. Hospital, 1962) and I moved to Fresno, CA in 1971. Karen settled into a career in administration, primarily the medical field, unfortunately shortened by a terrible accident. She is OK today, thank you. My career blossomed (cough) in advertising art, working for a few Ad Agencies, then on my own. The checkered accomplishments of Doug Anderson Design, Inc. has brought me into semi-retirement today. Outside of this Day Job for so many years, I have continued my passion in the fine arts painting and drawing. Being proud of doing a logo, a brochure, or an ad, is nice, is fine, is rewarding -- but it pales beside seeing something you’ve done hanging on a wall. Or my Mom’s refrigerator. We’re talking real pride, here. Karen and I divorced in 1981. We both remarried but, sadly, our respective new mates have passed on. Daughter Kelly has added three grand daughters to the family. We are all still in Fresno, and would love to hear from any of our mutual classmates and friends.
Currently a grandpa. Ashlee=16, and Darian=10. Son Jeremy (32)is a personal fitness trainer & director of training at Fitness Advantage, an up-scale fitness center here in Ft Myers. Son Chad (28) is a Black Jack dealer at a new Casino in Temecula,CA. My wife Regina and I are still very active and involved in our church in Lehigh, Fl., where she is the receptionist (knows everybody and everything..just ask her), and I teach and preach when I'm not invited to preach elsewhere. Still flying a little bit, doing TV commercials and building musical instruments. 'Couple of years ago, I started building and playing folk harps. 'Got three of them...'looking for buyers so I can build some more. 'Just earned my real estate broker license and am with RE/MAX. The company is taking off like a rocket! We've won several international awards. Life is good...God is good! Agape & Dios te Bendiga... Pastor Steve Barnett

I've been in the Broadcast Industry the majority of my professional
career. Both in Radio and Television. My wife Maria and I have
been married 25 years. Our choosing not to have children has provided
us the time and resources to be able to see much of world. We
both retired last year so continued travel is definitely in the
future. I hope to take up golf and perhaps fly fishing. My tennis
and skiing could also use some improvement. Becoming more proficient
as a stock trader would also certainly be most welcome. Any tips?
Let me hear from you if you get a chance.
Married for 40 years to Ed Steffen.Have 2 great children, and 1 adorable grandson. Retired living at Vacationland in Florida. Parents still living in SM. Hope to hear from y'all!
I'm currently in Vietnam doing charity work; living in the city and going with a medical group into the countryside to set up free clinics on weekends. Anyone who is interested in volunteering: medical, teaching English, or if not a teacher, just letting students practice pronunciation and conversation with you, let me know. UnityCenterUSA@yahoo.com

During the past 34 years I've lived and worked in Minnesota with my husband, Wayne. We travel as often as possible during the frigid winter months to scuba dive in the Caribbean, ski in the Rockies, or visit 2 of our grandchildren in Thousand Oaks. Our entire family (3 sons, 1 daughter, 2 daughter-in-laws, a girl frined and a boy friend, plus 3 grandchildren) go on at least one 10 day scuba trip each year. Although Wayne is a retired architect, I have no desire to retire. We love Minnesota in the summer and will probably spend the rest of our days here.

Still enjoying life in Aotearoa New Zealand with my wife, Anne and our family. Retired from creative director stuff, but still writing features for various magazines and working on other writing projects - some of which you can read on www.feigelonline.com. You might also get a kick out of some stories about the good old days of surfing Santa Monica Bay, plus some great images that will bring back old memories of Santa Monica & Malibu on www.surfwriter.net. Hope all is well with all of you. Cheers, Bob (06 July 2007) PLEASE USE THE FOLLOWING EMAIL ADDRESS: bob(AT)surfwriter.net. The last time I published a valid email address here I was inundated with SPAM ... so I've used a "throw-away" address in the form and only check it once a month to keep it active.
Retired after 40 yr's in telecommunications. Live in the far northeast corner of Shasta County. Like to hunt, hike, wildlife photography, spoil my wife and grandkids, horses. Even though I hunt, I am into wildlife preservation. Travel about 5 months a year in our motorhome.
I have had a quiet life. Still happily married to Steve for 45 years (also class of 1959), mother of three (Sr. Master Sgt/Air Force, Youth Pastor, 5th grade teacher), grandmother to seven. Homemaker was my most gratifing job title: others have included office admin. and primary caregiver for my aging mother. The latter was the a most difficult season for me; however, I can truly say I would not hesitate to do it again. I hope it's possible for a majority of you to come to the reunion. Steve and I look forward to seeing you all. P.S. I know most of us will look quite different: I hope the Committee uses VERY large printing on the name badges so I don't have to get too personal trying to see your names. :-)
Retired from hospital administration and living in the small community of Marshall, MO with my wife Sue.
I live in Mission Viejo, Ca. with all my family living near by (thank God). I have 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren. I would like to hear from anyone who has the time to write.

After Hi school, went to SMCC and San Fernando Valley State College. Gruduated in June 1964 and began teaching at Will Rogers where I went to school in September of 1964. We were married in 1966, have two children, Dana, 30 (as still single but plans to wed next year), and Deena 28, who is getting married in May 2000.

I attended UC Berkeley and UCLA where I met my husband, Joel. We are married 46 years and have two children and four grandkids, 4 years old and under. I am retired from the field of pulmonary medicine. I started my career at UCLA hospital followed by working at Saint John's Hospital and then moved on to a private practice of 5 physicians and myself, as respiratory therapist, heading the area of research/clinical trials and helping form the first clinical sleep lab in Santa Monica. I worked for 18 years in that pulmonary practice following my stint as a Mom raising our son and daughter. In retirement, we travel, shuttle between Palm Desert and Century City and yearn for our visits with those grandbabies.
I know, odd name, but I'm back at the old homestead and mom
has the same first name. I've been in brain and consciousness
research for about 30 years now, at UCLA, UC Davis (&OR,CO,Fla,No.CA
again, Sunshine Coast of British Columbia) then back to UCLA and
living in Malibu. Was married 14 years to college sweetheart,
Ben Baldwin. My research put him through Veterinary School. But
have experienced several incarnations since then. Have two wonderful
offspring. Beau-27 now in school in Uppsala, Sweden with his lady
love, and Danika-25, in Sch. of Architecture, Copenhagen, Denmark
for this year. We're all perpetual students.
Fun hearing about your visit to Marci Turner Haase, Kay. I keep
in touch with her too, and have been to visit her in her lovely
home in Reno. She's still making beautiful music with her violin.
We had lots of fun at SMCC guesting with SMCC orchestra. Marci
certainly metamorphosed a few years ago, when she took up marathon
bicycling. She's one of my heroes! I'm busy with Malibu ranch
chores, research projects and friends who share interests in what
we're here for, and since we are, how best to be healthy and become
wise. Danika and I swam and sang with Spotted Dolphins for a week
last summer near West End, Bahamas. Enjoyed the connection here...

We have been enjoying my new free time with trips to Europe and Central America.
