Since I graduated from Samohi, my entire life has changed,
positively and dramatically. I stopped being introverted
and became extroverted and goal
oriented. I found out I was psychic, something I had never even
believed existed. I opened my own business in the Executive
Search Field, used my
psychic ability, and in a few years became number one in the world.
I was honored in WHO'S WHO IN AMERICAN WOMEN. IN 1984 I
left the corporate world and went on a spiritual journey in which
I helped people all over the world to utilize their full potential,
in my BREAKTHROUGH-BEYOND CONCEPTION WORKSHOPS and through psychic,
soul life readings. I am an authoress, and soon will have books
published in the U. S. The only thing constant in life is
change and when we change our thoughts and our actions..our lives
expand into beauty and wonder.

The night before the Reunion, all the gals in our "Old Gang" and their husbands met for dinner at the Fish Company Restaurant.....They were: Joanne LaForge & husband Ron Guercio, Pat Allmon and husband Bob Brendell, Genene Calkins and husband Lee McGovern, Phyllis Bonge and husband Regis Donnelley, Joan Kastendick and husband Monte Newman, Diana Harrison and husband Rudy Severns, Naomi Kafenhaus and husband Mike Frucht and Robin Cox Picardo. The din from the back of the restaurant where we were all seated and laughing, was awesome! Joanne LaForge had copied her high school photo album and gave each one of us a copy...a lovely gift!
The next morning, we all had breakfast together at the Marina Del Rey Marriott Hotel, where all the out of town classmates and their husbands were staying. We had a wonderful time re-connecting again after so many years. Most of us have kept in touch through the years with treks to visit out-of-state friends, lunches with friends close by, letters, phone calls and E-mail.
At the reunion at Ann Zwicker Kerr's lovely hilltop house, we looked at Diana Harrison's John Adams Jr. High and Samohi high school photo album which included the pictures she took when she had a party for the "Gang" near our 20th reunion in 1972.
Chicken Crippen Jensen brought several enlarged copies of the First grade group photo from John Muir Elementary School to share and we discovered that there were four of us in the picture, so of course, we had to take a picture of us. We were Chicken Crippen Jensen, Bonnie Hargrave Kinch, Vinita Dunn Seely and Diana Harrison Severns.
Although most of us live in Southern California, Robin and Pat drove from Las Vegas, Naomi came from San Luis Obispo and Diana flew in from Oregon.
We had so much fun together and are so much alike, even after all these years, it was like the "Old Gang" again in high school, that we decided to get together next year and have a weekend "Slumber Party like we did when we were teenagers.

I have been retired since 1997, leaving Santa Monica College, where I served at Deputy Superintendent, Chief Government Relations Officer, President/Superintendent Richard Moore and then Assistant to President Piedad Robertson. I continue to be quite involved in my community and am actively engaged with 20 plus non-profit organizations. My wife Ida (Venice High, class of '53) and I are both doing well as is our daughter, Toni (Samohi, class of '73). We love to travel and we do annual trips to Mexico in the Spring and Fall, since we consider Mazatlan our home away from home. This past Christmas we cruised to Hawaii roundtrip from Los Angeles, the Christmas before that we did the Panama Canal and we are planning to be at sea during the Christmas 2004-05 season. Samohi provided me with a great foundation for public service and volunteer work and it has served me and my family well.
Have lived in the Malibu hills for over forty years with my husband, Lev. One daughter. Practice psychotherapy, run groups on dreams and mythology. Teach in the Santa Monica College Emeritus Program.
