I am now retired from teaching water aerobics after 15 years. My time is spent volunteering at Mercy Hospital, playing golf, traveling, visiting with my 8 grandchildren, and just trying to stay healthy. Ron and I will be celebrating our 48th wedding anniversary in June '09. WOW!!!

After retiring from the Airline Industry in 1992, I had to find something to do, so I am and have been a Santa Monica School Crossing Guard for the past 7 years. My corner is located on Lincoln and Washington St. by St. Monicas and St. Pauls Lutheran Church. Any former classmates or just anybody please stop by and say hello. I'm there from 7:30 am to 9:15am then again at noon till 3:15pm. I would love a visit.

After graduating from UCLA, undergraduate and law schools, I moved to San Diego County. After practicing law for twelve years, I became a judge in 1979. I retired from the San Diego Superior Court in Jan. 2001. I have been married to my wife, Martha, for 34 years. We have no children, but have had a succession of dogs and one very long lived cat. I still enjoy the beach, play golf, go to the gym and putter around the house. We live in Vista in an older part of the city where it is always beautiful to take long walks.

Does anyone know what ever happened to Dr. Konold? Remember Mrs. Von Sternad? She died of cancer a couple of years after we graduated...I was a nurse aide at St. Johns and took care of her. She suffered greatly before she died.

I live in Hawaii and have my own CPA business. My son is in Southern California at San Diego State. My Mother was very active with saving the Santa Monica Pier and had quite a write up in the Santa Monica Outlook. I left Santa Monica in 1969 and moved to Hawaii. In 1976 I moved to Dallas, and later lived in Truckee, California before moving back to Hawaii for good in 1984. The only contact I have kept with Santa Monica High School is with Mascha NORMAN Richards who currently lives near Brighton, England.

Still married to Jessica, have 17 yr old son who graduates High School this year (S'05), still work in the film biz as a visual effects supervisor (Chuck Comisky). My wife Diane and I have lived for 37 years in an old house a few blocks from where I lived when I was at Samohi. We just keep remodeling it. I am still practicing law and serving on a couple of boards, but I am not working very hard anymore. Diane retired from teaching at John Adams Middle School a couple of years ago. We are now traveling and spending more time with our five grandchildren.

Have been living in the Pacific Northwest in the most beautiful place in the world for 35 years. Sequim-Dungeness Vally, on the Olympic Peninsula.

I moved to Woodinville in June 1978 with Janell, my wife and three children who are now aged 29, 27 and 21. I'm a contract engineer and have worked at Boeing most of my time here. About 9 years ago I ran into Jimmie Lou (Gray), then lost contact until the reunion, when I heard about the web site. We live about a 1.5 miles for each other. Naomi (McClure) is also an almost neighbor...thanks to the reunion.

Retired the second time Sep 30th 2005 and moved to Rocklin in northern California (near Sacramento). Playing lots of golf, and very involved in reading about, discussing and taking part in reenactments of the American Civil War. I've always been a history bug. May get back to painting yet.

My God I can't believe its been 44 years since I saw the names on this web page. It was like stepping into a time warp! Looked at some pics but felt like Henry Fonda in "On Golden Pond", "who the hell is this?". The only benefit, that I can see, is now I get senior discounts and an annual subscription to the scintillating magazine "Modern Maturity". (Still can't find the centerfold! Not sure I'd want to!) Oh yea, I got Senior of the Year in '97 but don't tell the girls at the college, I lied about my age! I have three children; Jason 36, Morgan Elizabeth 34 and Tegan 30, their mother, Judy, died of cancer when Tegan was 5. Guess you could call me the first "Mr Mom". PTA meetings, parents night, Mothers Day Cards, etc. I live in Lancaster, Ca, Antelop Valley, about 60 miles north of LA in the high desert. Since moving up here from Topanga Canyon I have been active in numerous nonprofit orgs like Boys & Girls Club, United Way. Like my father, I even play Santa Claus at the local hospitals and we deliver presents to needy families on Christmas eve. Love to play golf, not too well, but it gets me off my butt. I finished my MBA at Pepperdine in Malibu after Judy died and am now the CFO of the Antelope Valley Domestic Violence Council. It is the largest shelter on the west coast with a bed capacity of 95. Would love to hear from other "old" alums.

Adjusting to being retired, and trying not to get bored. I'm a ten handicap golfer, and I play golf about four days a week; one day a week with Samohi friends Leon Williams, Rod Jurgenson, Gene Cantreau and Jim Porter. I continue to live on the Westside where I have been for over 20 years.

I just discovered this site and am excited about the prospect of hooking up with some OLD, long lost friends. What a great way to renew old aquaintances. I've pretty much stayed around the old stomping grounds over the years. I've been 28 years with LAFD as a paramedic and am currently assigned to the Brentwood area. All of the McMillan sproutlettes and sub-sproutlettes are still in the LA basin. I'd be glad to hear from anyone that remembers this fossil. Email me and I will certainly respond.

Living in Topanga and working from home for 15 years as CPA, business manager, and computer consultant. Coached baseball (walk on assistant and pain in the ass parent of a graduated player) at Palisades High School. Still trying to have fun but work always gets in the way.

I came out of recent retirement to run a cigar store in San Pedro. I am also writing a cigar column for a local newspaper. Still planning to move up to Florence, Oregon in the fairly near future. Hopefully late 1998. Still enjoy fast cars and playing chess. Plan to attend the 40th reunion if in California. Was sorry to note the passing of Mr. Crawford. Truly a scholar and a gentleman. The world would be a better place if it had more Mr. Crawfords. (He played a hell-of-a game of chess too !!) After we settled in California I worked as a real estate manager for the County at John Wayne Airport. Since my husband and I have retired we like to travel, especially to our vacation home in Baja California.

I have been married for 41 years, have three children and,finally, one grandchild. My husband and I have recently retired to Palm Desert where we live on a golf course and play golf as often as possible. I still keep in close touch with Samohi friends Linnea Marble Perrine, Sue Smythe Lovelace, Donna Pennington Gonyer and Art Walton as well as many of my sister's and brother's old friends. It was such fun to see my father, Harvey Sawyer (31) in the last newsletter. Two generations of Sawyers have graduated from Samohi and we all have such warm and fond memories of our school. I recently attended a birthday celebration for my brother in law, Dick Robbins. The majority of the attendees were Samohi grads and everyone sang the Hymn of Praise without missing a word or a note! It was amazing!

Retired from teaching at Lincoln Middle School and went directly into working at UCLA in their graduate credential program for urban teachers. Am now cutting back from that bur will continue to supervise beginning teachers in urban school settings. My husband Phil and I will be traveling to New Zealand in February. Our two sons Matt and Greg are both history teachers. Matt is at Samohi and Greg is at Milken Middle School. We continue to live in Santa Monica and plan to remain there after we fully retire in a year or two.

I have been married to my husband Ron for 38 happy years. We have a daughter Nikki (also a Samohi alum) and we have 2 grandsons that we don't see often enough (they live downstate) HOW DID WE GET TO BE THIS AGE? I still feel young!

Have a house in Orange County but spend a lot of time on my sailboat in the Port Of Los Angeles. Have two grown daughters that live in Los Angeles and three grandchildren. My one son is still attending school and is a professional rider. I go sailing the time and if your are interested call me.

Valerie passed away in January 2004 after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her Husband, Sidney Leo Raiche after being married for 43 years. They had 4 children, Daniel Peter, Tamra Theresa(Skibsted), Andrew Philip, Elizabeth Dawn, and 6 grandchildren(9 now as of this post date). She had the blessings of holding her first grandchild and seeing her eldest daughter Tamra get married just months prior to her death. Her youngest daughter Elizabeth was at her bedside when she took her last breath. Anyone that knew Valerie is encouraged to contact her eldest daughter Tamra at the email provided as she is putting together a family heritage album and would love to include comments from people who knew her.

Still enjoying the beautiful community of SUN LAKES here in Banning. My husband Jimmy passed away over two years ago and still miss him. I do keep VERY busy with many things ...FRIENDS...Clubs and activities.
